The definition and what it covers
Regulation 94 covers work at any height from which a fall could injure, access to and egress from that place, and work on a fragile surface or near an opening. It includes work above ground, work at ground level next to a drop, and work below ground where a fall into an excavation or a tank is possible. Falling through a fragile roof light or a skylight is work at height even though the person starts at roof level.
Common examples
Using ladders and stepladders, working from scaffolds, tower scaffolds and mobile elevating work platforms, roof work, gutter cleaning, window cleaning, warehouse racking, tree work, working on vehicles and trailers, maintenance from platforms and mezzanines, and work near open edges, holes and excavations.
